Use Peppermint Oil in Dilution
Being highly concentrated, peppermint oil can’t be used directly or solely to scalp or skin. It may irritate the skin and in the worst case, may leave a long-lasting burning sensation to the area.
Diluting peppermint essential oil in any carrier oil is the best way to use this oil. The concentration of peppermint oil should not be more than 2% to the dilution. Near about 10 to 12 drops of peppermint oil can be mixed in a 30 ml solution.

Coconut oil is a very popular carrier oil as it is very light and easily gets absorbed into the skin and scalp. Coconut oil mixes well with any essential oil and intensifies the goodness of that oil.
Other than coconut oil, almond oil and jojoba oil also can be used for dilution. Both of these oils contain omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. Hence, the moisturizing agent in these oils keeps the skin hydrated and prevents irritation. The chemical elements found in these oils don’t react with peppermint oil. Thus mixing one of these three oils with peppermint essential oil is completely safe.
Tips to Use Peppermint Oil for Pimple Treatment
Peppermint oil uses for skin are no longer a secret. Numerous cosmetic brands use peppermint oil for preparing face washes as it works as a natural cleanser. The anti-bacterial property of this oil keeps skin healthy and prevents the appearance of pimples and acne.
Add 2 to 4 drops of this oil to almond oil and vitamin E oil for treating pimple-prone skin.
How Often Should You Use Peppermint Oil on the Scalp
Peppermint essential oil is very helpful for hair re-growth. For this, you may add 5 to 6 drops of peppermint oil in a cup of coconut oil or olive oil. Massage your scalp well, leave it for a maximum of 30 minutes, and wash your hair with shampoo. You may repeat this procedure twice a week.
If you prefer oiling your hair at night and leave it overnight, you may do this also. But the concentration of the essential oil should not be more than 2% and do this once a week.
Other than oils, you may mix 2 to 3 drops of this oil with your shampoo or conditioner to get good results for your hair.
You may also mix this oil with your body lotion to keep your skin nourished.
